✧ The prayer at the digging of the trench

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي غَدَاةٍ بَارِدَةٍ وَالْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَارُ يَعْنِي يَحْفِرُونَ الْخَنْدَقَ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرُ الْآخِرَهْ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَهْ» فَأَجَابُوهُ [البحر الرجز] نَحْنُ الَّذِينَ بَايَعُوا مُحَمَّدَا عَلَى الْجِهَادِ مَا بَقِينَا أَبَدَا
Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ went out on a cold morning while the Muhajirun and the Ansar were digging the trench, and he said: “O Allah, the good is the good of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirun.” They answered him with the rajaz verse: “We are those who pledged allegiance to Muhammad, upon jihad as long as we remain forever.”
