✧ The killing of the polytheists' eyes.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

جَاءَ عَيْنٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ نَازِلٌ فَلَمَّا طَعِمَ انْسَلَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عَلَيَّ الرَّجُلُ اقْتُلُوهُ فَابْتَدَرَهُ الْقَوْمُ» قَالَ «وَكَانَ أَبِي يَسْبِقُ الْفَرَسَ شَدًّا فَسَبَقَهُمْ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخَذَهُ بِخِطَامِ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَقَتَلَهُ فَنَفَّلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَلَبَهُ»

Translation

✧ A spy from the polytheists came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was encamped. When he had eaten, he slipped away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bring me the man; kill him." The people rushed to him. He said, "My father could outrun a horse in speed, so he outpaced them to him. He seized him by the halter of his riding camel and killed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave him his spoils as a reward."
