أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَسِيرُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَلَى جَمَلٍ فَأَعْيَا فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُسَيِّبَهُ قَالَ «فَلَحِقَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَعَا لَهُ وَضَرَبَهُ» قَالَ «فَسَارَ سَيْرًا لَمْ يَسِرْ مِثْلَهُ» قَالَ «أَتَبِيعُنِيهِ بِأُوقِيَّةٍ؟ وَالْأُوقِيَّةُ أَرْبَعُونَ دِرْهَمًا» قَالَ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ «تَبِيعُنِيهِ؟» فَبِعْتُهُ بِأُوقِيَّةٍ وَاسْتَثْنَيْتُ حِمْلَانَهُ إِلَى أَهْلِي فَلَمَّا بَلَغَنَا أَتَيْتُهُ بِالْجَمَلِ فَنَقَدَنِي ثَمَنَهُ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ «أَتُرَى أَنَّمَا مَاكَسْتُكَ لِأَخُذَ جَمَلَكَ خُذْ جَمَلَكَ وَدَرَاهِمَكَ فَهُمَا لَكَ»

✧ That he was traveling with the Prophet ﷺ on a camel, and it became exhausted, so he wanted to release it. He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with me, supplicated for it, and struck it. He said: It then traveled as it had never traveled before. He said: 'Will you sell it to me for an uqiyyah? And an uqiyyah is forty dirhams.' He said: I said: No. He said: 'Will you sell it to me?' So I sold it to him for an uqiyyah, and I stipulated that it carry me to my family. When we arrived, I brought him the camel, and he paid me its price. Then I returned, and he sent for me and said: 'Do you think that I bargained with you only to take your camel? Take your camel and your dirhams, for they are yours.'
