أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ عَنْتَرَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ
عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ وَعَلْقَمَةَ قَالَا دَخَلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ نِصْفَ النَّهَارِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءٌ يُشْغَلُونَ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلُّوهَا لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ» وَقَالَ «هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَلَ»

✧ From al-Aswad and ʿAlqamah, who said: We entered upon ʿAbd Allāh at midday, and he said: “There will be rulers who are distracted from the time of prayer, so pray it at its time.” Then he stood and prayed with me and him [i.e., one on each side]. And he said: “Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do.”
