✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Who will deal with Ka'b b. al-Ashraf? For he has harmed Allah and His Messenger." Muhammad b. Maslamah said: "O Messenger of Allah, would you like me to kill him?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Permit me to say something." He said: "Say it." So he went to him and said to him, mentioning what was between them: "This man has demanded charity from us and has burdened us." When he heard that, he said: "Indeed, by Allah, you will become weary of him." He said: "We have followed him now, and we dislike abandoning him until we see what becomes of his affair. I want you to lend me a loan." He said: "What will you pledge to me? Will you pledge your women?" He said: "You are the most handsome of the Arabs; shall we pledge our women to you?" He said: "Will you pledge your children?" He said: "One of our sons would be insulted, and it would be said: 'He was pledged for two wasqs.' But we will pledge you the armor, meaning weapons." He said: "Yes." So he made an appointment with him to come to him, if Allah wills. He set out with Abu Na'ilah, his foster brother and sibling through suckling, and with al-Harith, Abu Abs b. Jabr, and Abbad b. Bishr. They came and called him at night, and he came down to them. Sufyan said: Other than Amr said: His wife said: "I hear a voice like the sound of blood." He said: "This is only Muhammad and his foster brother Abu Na'ilah. If a noble man is called to a thrust at night, he would respond." Muhammad said: "When he comes, I will extend my hands to his head, and when I have a firm grip, then you finish him." When he came down, he came down wrapped in his garment. They said: "We smell from you the scent of perfume." He said: "Yes, under me is so-and-so, the most perfumed woman of the Arabs." He said: "Will you permit me to smell from it?" He said: "Yes." So he smelled. He said: "He reached out and smelled." He said: "Will you permit me to return?" He said: "Then he took hold of his head." Then he said: "Finish him." He said: "So they killed him."
