✧ The burning and cutting of their palms

أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حَرَّقَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَقَطَعَ وَلَهُ يَقُولُ حَسَّانُ «لَهَانَ عَلَى سَرَاةِ بَنِي لُؤَيٍّ حَرِيقٌ بِالْبُوَيْرَةِ مُسْتَطِيرُ»

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ burned the palm trees of Banu al-Nadir and cut them down. About that Hassan said: "It was a light matter for the nobles of Banu Lu'ayy, a fire spreading at al-Buwayrah."
