✧ Consultation with the people's leader when the enemy multiplies, and says: Who is with him

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ وَثَبَّتَنِي مَعْمَرٌ بَعْدَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ

أَنَّ مِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ وَمَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ يَزِيدُ أَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ قَالَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فِي بِضْعَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَلَمَّا أَتَى ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ قَلَّدَ الْهَدْيَ وَأَشْعَرَهُ وَأَحْرَمَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ بَعَثَ عَيْنَا لَهُ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ وَسَارَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً بِالْأَشْطَاطِ أَتَاهُ عَيْنُهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا جَمَعُوا لَكَ جُمُوعًا وَجَمَعُوا لَكَ الْأَحَابِيشَ وَإِنَّهُمْ مُقَاتِلُوكَ وَصَادُّوكَ عَنِ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَشِيرُوا عَلَيَّ أَتَرَوْنَ أَنْ نَمِيلَ عَلَى ذَرَارِيِّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ أَعَانُوا عَلَيْنَا فَإِنْ نَجَوْا يَكُونُ اللهُ قَدْ قَطَعَ عُنُقًا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ وَإِلَّا تَرَكْتُهُمْ مَحْرُوبِينَ مَوْتُورِينَ؟» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ «إِنَّمَا خَرَجْتُ لِهَذَا الْوَجْهِ عَامِدًا لِهَذَا الْبَيْتِ لَا تُرِيدُ قِتَالَ أَحَدٍ فَتَوَجَّهْ لَهُ فَمَنْ صَدَّنَا عَنْهُ قَاتَلْنَاهُ» فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «امْضُوا عَلَى اسْمِ اللهِ»

✧ Al-Miswar b. Makhramah and Marwan b. al-Hakam, one of them adding to the other, said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out in the year of al-Hudaybiyah with some ten and a few hundred of his companions. When he reached Dhu al-Hulayfah, he garlanded the sacrificial animal, marked it, and entered ihram from there. Then he sent a scout from Khuza'ah, and the Prophet ﷺ traveled until he was at al-Ashtat. His scout came to him and said, 'Quraysh have gathered troops against you and gathered the Ahabish. They will fight you and block you from the House.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Advise me. Do you think we should raid the children of these people who helped against us? If they escape, Allah will have cut a neck of the disbelievers; otherwise, I will leave them deprived and bereaved.' Abu Bakr said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you set out for this purpose, heading to this House, not intending to fight anyone. So proceed toward it, and whoever blocks us from it, we will fight him.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Proceed in the name of Allah.'"
