أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ هَانِئِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ وَهُبَيْرَةَ بْنِ يَرِيمَ

عَنْ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّهُمُ اخْتَصَمُوا فِي ابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ فَقَضَى بِهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِخَالَتِهَا وَقَالَ «إِنَّ الْخَالَةَ أُمٌّ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا تَزَوَّجُهَا؟ قَالَ «إِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِي إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ» وَقَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «أَنْتَ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْكَ» وَقَالَ لِزَيْدٍ «أَنْتَ أَخُونَا وَمَوْلَانَا» وَقَالَ لِجَعْفَرٍ «أَشْبَهْتَ خَلْقِي وَخُلُقِي»

✧ From Ali, that they disputed over the daughter of Hamzah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in favor of her maternal aunt and said, 'The maternal aunt is a mother.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will you not marry her?' He said, 'She is not lawful for me; she is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding.' He said to Ali, 'You are from me and I am from you.' He said to Zayd, 'You are our brother and our freedman.' He said to Ja'far, 'You resemble me in appearance and character.'
