أَخْبَرَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ
عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ قُثَمَ إِنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ مَا لِعَلِيٍّ وَرِثَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دُونَ جَدِّكَ وَهُوَ عَمُّهُ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ عَلِيًّا كَانَ أَوَّلَنَا بِهِ لُحُوقًا وَأَشَدَّنَا بِهِ لُصُوقًا»

✧ From Khalid ibn Qutham, it was said to him, "Why did Ali inherit the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instead of your grandfather when he is his uncle?" He said, "Indeed, Ali was the earliest among us in accepting Islam and the most strict among us in adhering to it."
