أَخْبَرَنِي هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ
سَأَلَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قُثَمَ بْنَ الْعَبَّاسِ مِنْ أَيْنَ وَرِثَ عَلِيٌّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ أَوَّلَنَا بِهِ لُحُوقًا وَأَشَدَّنَا لَهُ لُزُومًا خَالَفَهُ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ فَقَالَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ قُثَمَ

✧ Abd al-Rahman asked Qutham b. al-Abbas: “From where did Ali inherit the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” He said: “He was the first of us to join him and the closest of us in keeping to him.” Zayd b. Abi Unaysah differed, saying: “From Khalid b. Qutham.”
