أَخْبَرَنِي زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُهَاجِرِ بْنِ مِسْمَارٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرْتِنِي عَائِشَةُ ابْنَةُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ وَهُوَ مُوَجِّهٌ إِلَيْهَا فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ غَدِيرَ خُمٍّ وَقَفَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ رَدَّ مَنْ مَضَى وَلَحِقَهُ مَنْ تَخَلَّفَ فَلَمَّا اجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اشْهَدْ» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ يَقُولُهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ مَنْ وَلِيُّكُمْ؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ عَلِيٍّ فَأَقَامَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلِيَّهُ فَهَذَا وَلِيُّهُ اللهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the road to Makkah while he was heading towards it. When he reached Ghadir Khumm, the people stopped, then he called back those who had gone ahead and waited for those who had lagged behind. When the people had gathered to him, he said: "O people, have I conveyed?" They said: Yes. He said: "O Allah, bear witness" three times. Then he said: "O people, who is your wali?" They said: Allah and His Messenger, three times. Then he took 'Ali by the hand and made him stand, then said: "Whoever Allah and His Messenger are his wali, this is his wali. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him."
