✧ Prophet's ﷺ guidance on the innocence of Ali

أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُوحٍ وَاسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ قُرَادٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ يُثَيْعٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ بِبَرَاءَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ بِعَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ لَهُ «خُذِ الْكِتَابَ فَامْضِ بِهِ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ» قَالَ «فَلَحِقْتُهُ فَأَخَذْتُ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ فَانْصَرَفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَهُوَ كَئِيبٌ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُنْزِلَ فِيَّ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ «لَا إِنِّي أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُبَلِّغَهُ أَنَا أَوْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Abu Bakr with Bara'ah to the people of Makkah, then sent Ali after him and said to him, "Take the document and proceed with it to the people of Makkah." He said, "I caught up with him and took the document from him, and Abu Bakr returned distressed." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, has something been revealed concerning me?" He said, "No, but I was commanded that I should convey it myself or a man from my household."
