✧ I have never seen anyone closer in manner, conduct, and bearing to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in her standing and sitting, than Fatimah bt. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Whenever she entered upon the Prophet ﷺ, he would stand for her, kiss her, and seat her in his place. Whenever the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her, she would stand from her seat, kiss him, and seat him in her place. When the Prophet ﷺ fell ill, Fatimah entered, leaned over him, and kissed him. Then she raised her head and wept. Then she leaned over him again, then raised her head and laughed. I said, “I used to think this was one of the most intelligent women, but she is just like other women.” When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, I said, “Tell me, when you leaned over the Prophet ﷺ, raised your head and wept, then leaned over him again, raised your head and laughed, what made you do that?” She said, “He told me—meaning that he would die from this illness—so I wept. Then he told me that I would be the fastest of his household to join him, so that is when I laughed.”
