✧ The Virtues of Fatimah bt. Rasulullah ﷺ

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ فَأَكَبَّتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَارَّهَا فَبَكَتْ ثُمَّ أَكَبَّتْ عَلَيْهِ فَسَارَّهَا فَضَحِكَتْ فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ لَمَّا أَكْبَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَيِّتٌ مِنْ وَجَعِهِ ذَلِكَ فَبَكَيْتُ ثُمَّ أَكْبَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنِّي أَسْرَعُ أَهْلِهِ بِهِ لُحُوقًا وَأَنِّي سَيِّدَةُ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا مَرْيَمَ بِنْتِ عِمْرَانَ فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي فَضَحِكْتُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill. Fatimah came and leaned over the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He whispered to her and she wept. She leaned over him again and he whispered to her, and she laughed. When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, I asked her. She said, “When I leaned over him, he told me that he would die from that illness, so I wept. Then I leaned over him and he told me that I would be the first of his family to join him and that I am the mistress of the women of Paradise, except Maryam bt. Imran. So I raised my head and laughed.”
