أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ «لَوَ أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ سَلَكُوا وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا وَسَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَلَوْلَا الْهِجْرَةُ لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «مَا ظَلَمَ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي لَقَدْ آوَوْهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَكَلِمَةً أُخْرَى»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said—and sometimes Abu al-Qasim ﷺ said—: "If the supporters were to traverse a valley or a mountain pass and the people another valley or pass, I would traverse the valley of the supporters. Were it not for the emigration, I would have been a man of the supporters." Abu Hurayrah said: "He did not wrong [them]—may my father and mother be his ransom—for they sheltered him and supported him, and another word."
