✧ The Virtue of Abu Bakr and Umar

أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعُمَيْسِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَسْتَخْلِفْ» قَالَتْ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ كُنْتُ مُسْتَخْلِفًا أَحَدًا لَاسْتَخْلَفْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ»

✧ She said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away without appointing a successor." She said: "And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If I were to appoint a successor, I would appoint Abu Bakr and 'Umar.'"
