أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ لَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِلَّا مَا
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَنَا قَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ اللهُمَّ آتِ أَنْفُسَنَا تَقْوَاهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيِّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ» قَالَ أَحْمَدُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ «مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ» وَقَالَا جَمِيعًا «وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ دَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, old age, and the torment of the grave. O Allah, grant our souls their piety; You are the best to purify them; You are their guardian and their master. O Allah, I seek refuge in You"—Ahmad said in his version, "from knowledge that does not benefit"—and they both said, "from a soul that is never satisfied, from a heart that does not humble itself, and from a supplication that is not answered."
