✧ The limitation of a man's stay to his wife when she commits adultery.

الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأنا أَسْمَعُ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَشِبْلٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْأَمَةِ تَزْنِي قَبْلَ أَنْ تُحْصِنَ قَالَ اجْلِدُوهَا فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا وَقَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ أَوِ الثَّالِثَةِ بِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَالصَّوَابُ حَدِيثُ مَالِكٍ وَشِبْلٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ خَطَأٌ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the slave-woman who commits adultery before she is married. He said: "Flog her. If she commits adultery, flog her." And he said on the fourth or third occasion: "Sell her, even for a hair rope." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: The correct version is the hadith of Malik, and Shibl is in error in this hadith.
