✧ The issue of recognizing adultery and mentioning the differences regarding 'Ikrimah in the narration of Ma'iz.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ هُوَ الثَّقَفِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ

أَنَّ مَاعِزًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنِّي زَنَيْتُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَقَالَهَا مِرَارًا فَقَالَ لَهُ «أَنَكَحْتَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ قَوْمَهُ «أَبِهِ بَأْسٌ؟ أَبِهِ مَسٌّ؟» قَالُوا لَا فَرَجَمَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

Translation

✧ That Ma'iz came to the Prophet ﷺ and said to him: I have committed adultery. He turned away from him. He said it several times. Then he said to him: "Did you have intercourse?" He said: Yes. He asked his people about him: "Is there anything wrong with him? Is he touched?" They said: No. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stoned him.
