أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يَعْلَى وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَعْلَى بْنَ حَكِيمٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِمَاعِزِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَيْحَكَ لَعَلَّكَ قَبَّلْتَ أَوْ غَمَزْتَ أَوْ نَظَرْتَ قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَنِكْتَهَا» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَعِنْدَ ذَلِكَ أَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهِ وَقَالَ عَمْرٌو فِي حَدِيثِهِ أَتَى مَاعِزٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَعَلَّكَ قَبَّلْتَ أَوْ غَمَزْتَ أَوْ نَظَرْتَ» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «أَفَعَلْتَ؟» لَا يُكَنِّي قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَأَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهِ

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ said to Ma'iz b. Malik: "Woe to you, perhaps you kissed, or touched, or looked." He said: No. He said: "Did you have intercourse with her?" He said: Yes. He said: At that point he ordered him to be stoned. And Amr said in his narration: Ma'iz came to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ said: "Perhaps you kissed, or touched, or looked." He said: No. He said: "Did you do it?" without using a euphemism. He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. So he ordered him to be stoned.
