✧ The punishment for adultery of the married.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ كَرِبَ لِذَلِكَ وَتَرَبَّدَ لَهُ وَجْهُهُ فَنُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَلَقِيَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا سُرِّيَ عَنْهُ قَالَ «خُذُوا عَنِّي قَدْ جَعَلَ اللهُ لَهُنَّ سَبِيلًا الْبِكْرُ بِالْبِكْرِ جَلْدِ مِائَةٍ وَنَفْيُ سَنَةٍ وَالثَّيِّبُ بِالثَّيِّبِ جَلْدُ مِائَةٍ وَالرَّجْمُ»

✧ When revelation came down upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would be distressed by it and his face would change. One day revelation came down upon him, and he experienced that. When it was lifted from him, he said: “Take from me: Allah has made a way for them. The virgin with the virgin: one hundred lashes and banishment for a year. The previously married with the previously married: one hundred lashes and stoning.”
