أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ حُصَيْنِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الْآيَاتِ فِي الْمَائِدَةِ الَّتِي قَالَ
اللهُ فِيهَا {فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ أَوْ أَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ} [المائدة 42] إِلَى {الْمُقْسِطِينَ} [المائدة 42] إِنَّمَا نَزَلَتْ فِي الدِّيَةِ بَيْنَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ وَبَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ قَتْلَى النَّضِيرِ كَانَ لَهُمْ شَرَفٌ يُودَوْنَ الدِّيَةَ كَامِلَةً وَأَنَّ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ كَانُوا يُودَوْنَ نِصْفَ الدِّيَةِ فَتَحَاكَمُوا فِي ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ذَلِكَ فِيهِمْ فَحَمَلَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْحَقِّ فِي ذَلِكَ فَجَعَلَ الدِّيَةَ سَوَاءً»

✧ Allah said in it: {So judge between them or turn away from them} [al-Ma'idah: 42] up to {the just} [al-Ma'idah: 42]. This was revealed only about the blood money between the Banu al-Nadir and Banu Qurayzah. That is because the slain of the Nadir had nobility and were paid full blood money, while the Banu Qurayzah were paid half the blood money. They brought their dispute about that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Allah revealed that concerning them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made them adhere to the truth in that matter and made the blood money equal.
