✧ Eating of a person from what follows him when there is someone eating with him

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ قَالَ

أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِطَعَامٍ وَمَعَهُ رَبِيبُهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ «سَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ» هَذَا أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  3. Abū Nuʿaym Wahbb. Kaysān

✧ Food was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and with him was his stepson Umar b. Abi Salamah. He said to him: "Mention Allah's name and eat from what is near you." This is more correct.
