✧ Eating of a person from what follows him when there is someone eating with him

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ وَهْبَ بْنَ كَيْسَانَ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ يَقُولُ كُنْتُ غُلَامًا فِي حِجْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَتْ يَدِي تَطِيشُ فِي الصَّحْفَةِ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا غُلَامُ سَمِّ اللهَ وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ» خَالَفَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ

Translation

✧ I heard Umar b. Abi Salamah say: I was a boy under the care of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and my hand used to wander in the dish. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "O boy, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near you." Malik b. Anas contradicted him.
