أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُعَافَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ عِمْرَانَ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ عَنْ سَيْفٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمَكِّيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَلْبَسُوا الْحَرِيرَ وَلَا الدِّيبَاجَ وَلَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا فِي صِحَافِهِمَا فَإِنَّهَا لَكُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا»

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “Do not wear silk or brocade, and do not drink from vessels of gold and silver, and do not eat from plates made of them, for they are for them in this world and for you in the Hereafter.”
