أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَطَّابٌ هُوَ ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ أَشْرَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِينَ حَصَرُوهُ فَقَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللهِ رَجُلًا

سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْجَبَلِ حِينَ اهْتَزَّ فَرَكَلَهُ بِرِجْلِهِ وَقَالَ «اسْكُنْ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ أَوْ شَهِيدٌ» وَأَنَا مَعَهُ قَالَ فَانْتَشَدَ لَهُ رِجَالٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَنْشُدُ بِاللهِ رَجُلًا شَهِدَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بِيعَةِ الرِّضْوَانِ يَقُولُ «هَذِهِ يَدُ اللهِ وَهَذِهِ يَدُ عُثْمَانَ» فَانْتَشَدَ لَهُ رِجَالٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَنْشُدُ بِاللهِ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ جَيْشِ الْعُسْرَةِ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُنْفِقُ نَفَقَةً مُتَقَبَّلَةً؟» فَجَهَّزْتُ نِصْفَ الْجَيْشِ مِنْ مَالِي فَأَنْشَدَ لَهُ رِجَالٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَنْشُدُ بِاللهِ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يَزِيدُ فِي هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ بِبَيْتٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ» فَاشْتَرَيْتُهُ مِنْ مَالِي فَانْتَشَدَ لَهُ رِجَالٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَنْشُدُ بِاللهِ رَجُلًا شَهِدَ رُومَةَ تُبَاعُ فَاشْتَرَيْتُهَا مِنْ مَالِي فَأَبَحْتُهَا لِابْنِ السَّبِيلِ فَانْتَشَدَ لَهُ رِجَالٌ 6404 أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّلَمِيِّ قَالَ لَمَّا حُصِرَ عُثْمَانُ فِي دَارِهِ وَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ حَوْلَ دَارِهِ قَامَ فَأَشْرَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ

✧ He heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say on the day of the mountain, when it shook and he kicked it with his foot, "Be still, for upon you is none but a prophet, a truthful one, or a martyr," and I was with him. He said, so men testified for him. Then he said, "I adjure by God any man who witnessed the Messenger of God ﷺ on the day of the pledge of al-Ridwan saying, 'This is the hand of God and this is the hand of 'Uthman.'" So men testified for him. Then he said, "I adjure by God any man who heard the Messenger of God ﷺ on the day of the army of hardship saying, 'Who will spend an accepted expenditure?'" So I equipped half the army from my wealth, and men testified for him. Then he said, "I adjure by God any man who heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say, 'Whoever adds to this mosque a house in Paradise?'" So I bought it from my wealth, and men testified for him. Then he said, "I adjure by God any man who witnessed Rumah being sold, so I bought it from my wealth and made it available for the wayfarer." So men testified for him. [There then follows the chain for hadith 6404, but no separate matn is given.]
