✧ The boy greets one of his parents.

أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الْبَتِّيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَّهُ أَسْلَمَ وَأَبَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ

أَنْ تُسْلِمَ فَجَاءَ ابْنٌ لَهُمَا صَغِيرٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغْ فَأَجْلَسَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْأَبَ هَاهُنَا وَالْأُمَّ هَاهُنَا ثُمَّ خَيَّرَهُ فَقَالَ اللهُمَّ اهْدِهِ فَذَهَبَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ

✧ That she should accept Islam. A young son of theirs who had not reached puberty came. The Prophet ﷺ seated the father here and the mother here, then gave him the choice and said: “O Allah, guide him.” He went to his father.
