✧ The inheritance of the cursed child.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَائِذٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ قَذَفَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَدَّدَ ذَلِكَ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ آيَةَ الْمُلَاعَنَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ؟ إِنَّهُ قَدْ نَزَلَ مِنَ اللهِ أَمْرٌ عَظِيمٌ فَأَبَى الرَّجُلُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُلَاعِنَهَا وَأَبَتْ إِلَّا أَنْ تَدْرَأَ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا الْعَذَابَ فَتَلَاعَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِمَّا هِيَ تَجِيءُ بِهِ أُصَيْفِرَ أخَيْنِسَ مَنْشُولَ الْعِظَامِ فَهُوَ لِلْمُلَاعِنِ وَإِمَّا تَجِيءُ بِهِ أَسْوَدَ كَالْجَمَلِ الْأَوْرَقِ فَهُوَ لِغَيْرِهِ» فَجَاءَتْ بِهِ أَسْوَدَ كَالْجَمَلِ الْأَوْرَقِ فَدَعَا بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَعَلَهُ لِعَصَبَةِ أُمِّهِ وَقَالَ لَوْ مَا الْأَيْمَانُ الَّتِي مَضَتْ لَكَانَ لِي فِيهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that a man from the Ansar, from Banu Zurayq, accused his wife, so he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and repeated that four times to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so Allah revealed the verse of li’an. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Where is the questioner? A great matter has come down from Allah.” But the man insisted on taking the oath of li’an against her, and she insisted on warding off the punishment from herself. So they took the oaths of li’an. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Either she will bring him forth as a small, dark-skinned child with sunken eyes and thin bones, and he belongs to the one who took the oath; or she will bring him forth as a black child, like a dark brown camel, and he belongs to another.” She brought him forth as a black child, like a dark brown camel. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for him and assigned him to the maternal relatives of his mother, and said: “Were it not for the oaths that have already been taken, I would have had such-and-such concerning him.”
