أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يُتَلَقَّى الرُّكْبَانُ وَأَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَا قَوْلُهُ لَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ؟ قَالُوا لَا يَكُونُ لَهُ سِمْسَارًا

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ forbade meeting the caravans and a resident selling on behalf of a desert dweller. I said to Ibn Abbas: "What is the meaning of 'a resident should not sell on behalf of a desert dweller'?" He said: "He should not act as a broker for him."
