✧ The eagerness for the Emirate

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَحْرِصُونَ عَلَى الْإِمَارَةِ وَإِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ نَدَامَةً وَحَسْرَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَنِعْمَتِ الْمُرْضِعَةُ وَبِئْسَتِ الْفَاطِمَةُ»

Translation

✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “You will eagerly desire leadership, and it will be a regret and a remorse on the Day of Resurrection. What a good wet-nurse she is, and what an evil weaner!”
