✧ The remembrance of the saying of the Prophet ﷺ : "Many a recipient is more aware than the listener.

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلَمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

لَمَّا كَانَ ذَاكَ الْيَوْمُ قَعَدَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ فَقَالَ «أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا؟» قَالَ فَسَكَتْنَا حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ سَيُسَمِّيهِ سِوَى اسْمِهِ فَقَالَ «أَلَيْسَ بِيَوْمِ النَّحْرِ؟» فَقُلْنَا بَلَى قَالَ «فَأَيُّ شَهْرٍ هَذَا؟» قَالَ فَسَكَتْنَا حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ سَيُسَمِّيهِ سِوَى اسْمِهِ فَقَالَ «أَلَيْسَ بِذِي الْحِجَّةِ؟» فَقُلْنَا بَلَى قَالَ «فَأَيُّ بَلَدٍ هَذَا؟» قَالَ فَسَكَتْنَا حَتَّى ظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ سَيُسَمِّيهِ سِوَى اسْمِهِ قَالَ «أَلَيْسَ بِالْبَلْدَةِ؟» فَقُلْنَا بَلَى قَالَ «فَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ بَيْنَكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا أَلَا لِيُبَلِّغِ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ فَإِنَّ الشَّاهِدَ عَسَى أَنْ يُبَلِّغَهُ مَنْ هُوَ أَوْعَى لَهُ مِنْهُ»

✧ When that day came, the Prophet ﷺ sat on his camel and said, "Which day is this?" He said: We remained silent until we thought he would name it other than its name. He said, "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?" We said, "Yes." He said, "Which month is this?" He said: We remained silent until we thought he would name it other than its name. He said, "Is it not Dhul-Hijjah?" We said, "Yes." He said, "Which land is this?" He said: We remained silent until we thought he would name it other than its name. He said, "Is it not the town?" We said, "Yes." He said, "Indeed your blood, your wealth, and your honor are sacred among you like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Let the one present convey to the one absent, for the one present may convey it to someone more mindful of it than himself."
