أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَرَبِيعَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى الْمُنْبَعِثِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ ضَالَّةِ الْإِبِلِ وَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ اللُّقَطَةِ قَالَ «اعْرِفْ عِفَاصَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا وَعَدَدَهَا ثُمَّ عَرِّفْهَا عَامًا فَإِنْ جَاءَ صَاحِبُهَا فَعَرَفَ عِفَاصَهَا وَعَدَدَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا فَأَعْطِهِ إِيَّاهَا»

✧ A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about a stray camel and asked him about lost property. He said: “Note its purse-string, its tie, and its number, then announce it for a year. If its owner comes and recognizes its purse-string, its number, and its tie, then give it to him.”
