أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعَطَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ وَكَانَ طَوِيلَ الْيَدَيْنِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ أَمْ نَسِيتَ؟ قَالَ «مَا قَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَمَا نَسِيتُ» قَالَ مَا يَقُولُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ؟ قَالُوا صَدَقَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with his companions and said the salam after two rak'ahs. A man called Dhu al-Yadayn, who had long hands, said: 'O Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?' He said: 'The prayer has not been shortened, and I did not forget.' He said: 'What does Dhu al-Yadayn say?' They said: 'He has spoken the truth.' So he prayed two rak'ahs with them.
