أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ أَخَا أَبِي الْقُعَيْسِ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ بَعْدَ آيَةِ الْحِجَابِ فَأَبَتْ أَنْ تَأْذَنَ لَهُ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «ائْذَنِي لَهُ فَإِنَّهُ عَمُّكِ» فَقُلْتُ إِنَّمَا أَرْضَعَتْنِي الْمَرْأَةُ وَلَمْ يُرْضِعْنِي الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّهُ عَمُّكِ فَلْيَلِجْ عَلَيْكِ»

✧ The brother of Abu al-Qu'ays asked permission to enter upon 'A'ishah after the verse of hijab, but she refused to give him permission. That was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "Give him permission, for he is your paternal uncle." I said: It was the woman who breastfed me; the man did not breastfeed me. He said: "He is your paternal uncle, so let him enter upon you."
