✧ The ruling on someone who drinks alcohol consecutively

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ حَفْصٍ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْأُبُلِّيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَدَلِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever drinks wine, flog him; then if he repeats, flog him; then if he repeats for the fourth time, strike his neck."
