✧ The ruling on someone who drinks alcohol consecutively

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْقَاصِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْجَدَلِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَمْرٍو

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "If he drinks wine, flog him; then if he repeats, flog him; then if he repeats, flog him; then if he repeats for the fourth time, kill him." The wording is that of Amr.
