أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيٌّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْجُعَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ

«كُنَّا نُؤْتَى بِالشَّارِبِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَفِي إِمْرَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَصَدْرًا مِنْ إِمْرَةِ عُمَرَ فَنَقُومُ إِلَيْهِ فَنَضْرِبُهُ بِأَيْدِينَا وَنِعَالِنَا وَأَرْدِيَتِنَا»

Translation

✧ A drinker would be brought to us in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, during the rule of Abu Bakr, and in the early part of Umar's rule, and we would stand against him and strike him with our hands, our sandals, and our cloaks.
