أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ هَلْ
سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْعَزْلِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ «وَمَا هُوَ؟» فَقُلْنَا الرَّجُلُ تَكُونُ لَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ الْمُرْضِعُ فَيَكْرَهُ أَنْ تَحْمِلَ فَيَعْزِلُ عَنْهَا أَوْ تَكُونُ الْجَارِيَةُ لَهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرَهَا فَيُصِيبُ مِنْهَا فَيَكْرَهُ أَنْ تَحْمِلَ فَيَعْزِلَ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ «لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَلَّا تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ الْقَدَرُ»

✧ Did you hear anything from the Messenger of God ﷺ about coitus interruptus? He said: Yes. We asked the Messenger of God ﷺ about coitus interruptus and he said: “And what is it?” We said: A man has a nursing woman and dislikes that she becomes pregnant, so he withdraws from her; or he has a slave-girl, and he has no wealth other than her, and he has intercourse with her and dislikes that she becomes pregnant, so he withdraws from her. He said: “You would do no harm not to do that, for it is but destiny.”
