أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَبُو صِرْمَةَ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَسَرْنَا نِسَاءَ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ فَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَعْزِلَ فَقَالَ بَعْضُنَا لِبَعْضٍ تَعْزِلُونَ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَسْأَلُونَهُ؟ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَسَرْنَا كَرَائِمَ الْعَرَبِ أَسَرْنَا نِسَاءَ بَنِي الْمُصْطَلِقِ وَأَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَعْزِلَ وَرَغِبْنَا فِي الْفِدَاءِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَلَّا تَفْعَلُوا فَإِنَّهُ مَا مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ كَتَبَ اللهُ عَلَيْهَا أَنْ تَكُونَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا وَهِيَ كَائِنَةٌ» 5028 أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي قَالَ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُحَيْرِيزٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ نَحْوَهُ

✧ I and Abū Ṣirmah entered upon Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī and asked him about coitus interruptus. Abū Saʿīd said: We captured the women of Banū al-Muṣṭaliq and wanted to practice coitus interruptus. Some of us said to others: Do you practice coitus interruptus while the Messenger of God ﷺ is among you and you do not ask him? So we said: O Messenger of God, we captured noble Arab women, we captured the women of Banū al-Muṣṭaliq, and we wanted to practice coitus interruptus and we desired the ransom. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “You would do no harm not to do it, for there is no soul that God has decreed to be until the Day of Resurrection except that it will be.” 5028 ʿAbd al-Malik b. Shuʿayb b. al-Layth informed us saying: My father narrated to me from my grandfather: Ibn Ayyūb said: ʿUqayl narrated to me from Ibn Shihāb from Abū Muḥayrīz from Abū Saʿīd something similar.
