أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ لِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ مَا اسْمُكَ؟ قُلْتُ شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو شُعْبَةَ وَكَانَ لَطِيفًا قَالَ شَهِدْتُ سُوَيْدَ بْنَ مُقَرِّنٍ وَلَطَمَ رَجُلٌ غُلَامًا فَقَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ

أَنَّ الصَّورَةَ مُحَرَّمَةٌ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي سَابِعَ سَبْعَةٍ إِخْوَةٍ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَا لَنَا إِلَّا غُلَامٌ وَاحِدٌ فَلَطَمَهُ أَحَدُنَا «فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نُعْتِقَهُ»

✧ that the image is forbidden. I saw myself as the seventh of seven brothers during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and we had only one slave boy. One of us slapped him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to free him.
