✧ Who freed his slave then needed his service?

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ أَبِي السَّفَرِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ قَالَ

كَانَ لِبَنِي مُقَرِّنٍ غُلَامٌ فَلَطَمَهُ بَعْضُنَا فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ فَأَعْتَقَهُ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ خَادِمٌ غَيْرَهُ قَالَ «لِيَخْدِمْهُمْ حَتَّى يَسْتَغْنُوا عَنْهُ»

✧ The Banu Muqarrin had a slave boy, and one of us slapped him. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and complained to him, so he freed him. It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, he has no servant besides him." He said, "Let him serve them until they can do without him."
