✧ The Number of Eid al-Fitr Prayer and Eid al-Adha Prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ هُوَ ابْنُ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ

«صَلَاةُ الْجُمُعَةِ رَكْعَتَانِ وَالْفِطْرُ رَكْعَتَانِ وَالنَّحْرُ رَكْعَتَانِ وَالسَّفَرُ رَكْعَتَانِ تَمَامٌ غَيْرُ قَصْرٍ عَلَى لِسَانِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ» أَدْخَلَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ بَيْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى وَبَيْنَ عُمَرَ كَعْبَ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ

Translation

✧ The Friday prayer is two rak'ahs, the Fitr prayer is two rak'ahs, the sacrifice prayer is two rak'ahs, and the travel prayer is two rak'ahs, complete and not shortened, on the tongue of the Prophet ﷺ. Yazid b. Ziyad b. Abi al-Ja'd inserted Ka'b b. 'Ujrah between 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Layla and 'Umar.
