al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 4931

✧ servant comes between two people, and one of them will free him, and the narrators differ in reporting the news of Abdullah b. Umar in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدٌ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ وَعُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ كَانَ لَهُ شِرْكٌ فِي عَبْدٍ فَأَعْتَقَ نَصِيبَهُ مِنْهُ وَلَهُ مَالٌ مَا يَبْلُغُ قِيمَةَ أَنْصِبَاءِ شُرَكَائِهِ فَإِنَّهُ يَضْمَنُ لِشُرَكَائِهِ أَنْصِبَاءَهُمْ وَيُعْتِقُ الْعَبْدَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Any man who has a share in a slave and frees his portion of him, and he has wealth that reaches the value of his partners’ shares, then he is liable to his partners for their shares, and the slave is freed.”
