al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 4930

✧ servant comes between two people, and one of them will free him, and the narrators differ in reporting the news of Abdullah b. Umar in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا فِي عَبْدٍ فَقَدْ أَعْتَقَ كُلَّهُ إِنْ كَانَ لِلَّذِي أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبَهُ مِنَ الْمَالِ مَا يَبْلُغُ ثَمَنَهُ يُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ قِيمَةَ عَدْلٍ فَيَدْفَعُ إِلَى شُرَكَائِهِ أَنْصِبَاءَهُمْ وَيُخَلَّى سَبِيلُهُ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Whoever frees a share in a slave has freed the whole of him if the one who freed his share has wealth that reaches his price. A fair value is assessed on him and he pays his partners their shares and the slave is released.”
