al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 4932

✧ servant comes between two people, and one of them will free him, and the narrators differ in reporting the news of Abdullah b. Umar in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا مَمْلُوكٍ كَانَ بَيْنَ شُرَكَاءَ فَأَعْتَقَ أَحَدُهُمَا نَصِيبَهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُقَامُ فِي مَالِ الَّذِي أَعْتَقَ قِيمَةَ عَدْلٍ فَيُعْتِقُ إِنْ بَلَغَ ذَلِكَ مَالَهُ»

✧ He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Any slave owned by partners, and one of them frees his share, then a fair valuation is made against the wealth of the one who freed, and the slave is freed if his wealth reaches that.”
