al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 4920

✧ servant comes between two people, and one of them will free him, and the narrators differ in reporting the news of Abdullah b. Umar in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ عَبْدٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ آخَرَ فَأَعْتَقَ نَصِيبَهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ فَيُعْتِقُهُ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “Whoever has a slave shared between him and another and he frees his share, the slave's value is assessed on him and he frees him.”
