أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ قَالَ حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ الْبَهْزِيِّ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ اللَّيْلِ أَسْمَعُ؟ قَالَ «جَوْفُ اللَّيْلِ الْآخِرِ» قَالَ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ أَعْتَقَ امْرَأً مُسْلِمًا فَهُوَ فِكَاكُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ يُجْزِئُ كُلُّ عَظْمٍ مِنْهُ عَظْمًا وَأَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ مَسْلَمَةٍ أَعْتَقَتِ امْرَأَةً مَسْلَمَةً فَهُوَ فِكَاكُهَا مِنَ النَّارِ كُلُّ عَظْمٍ مِنْهَا عَظْمٌ مِنْهَا»

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "Which part of the night is most heard?" He said: "The last part of the night." He also used to say: "Any Muslim man who frees a Muslim man will be his ransom from the Fire, every bone of him sufficing for a bone. And any Muslim woman who frees a Muslim woman will be her ransom from the Fire, every bone of her sufficing for a bone of her."
