✧ Whoever swears an oath must exclude

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ حَلَفَ فَاسْتَثْنَى فَإِنْ شَاءَ مَضَّى وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ غَيْرَ حَنِثٍ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “Whoever swears an oath and makes an exception, then if he wishes he may proceed, and if he wishes he may desist, without being guilty of breaking his oath.”
