✧ Preventing the False Messiah from Entering the City

أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ وُهَيْبٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ قَالَ

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَرَّمَ مَكَّةَ فَجَعَلَهَا حَرَمًا وَإِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ حَرَامًا مَا بَيْنَ مَأْزِمَيْهَا أَنْ لَا يُهْرَاقَ فِيهَا دَمٌ وَلَا يُحْمَلُ فِيهَا سِلَاحٌ لِقِتَالٍ وَلَا تُخْبَطُ فِيهَا شَجَرَةٌ إِلَّا لِعَلْفٍ اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مَدِينَتِنَا اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِنَا اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مُدِّنَا اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِنَا اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مُدِّنَا اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مَدِينَتِنَا اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مَعَ الْبَرَكَةِ بَرَكَتَيْنِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ شِعْبٍ وَلَا نَقْبٍ إِلَّا عَلَيْهِ مَلَكَانِ يَحْرُسَانِهَا»

Translation

✧ We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: “O Allah, Ibrahim made Makkah sacred and made it a sanctuary, and I make Madinah sacred, a sanctuary between its two lava fields: that no blood be shed in it, no weapon be carried in it for fighting, and no tree be beaten in it except for fodder. O Allah, bless us in our city. O Allah, bless us in our ṣāʿ. O Allah, bless us in our mudd. O Allah, bless us in our ṣāʿ. O Allah, bless us in our mudd. O Allah, bless us in our city. O Allah, give with the blessing two blessings. By Him in whose hand is my soul, there is no mountain pass or gap in Madinah except that two angels guard it.”
