أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَقْفَلَهُ مِنْ عُسْفَانَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ وَصَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ قَدْ أَرْدَفَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَلْفَهُ فَعَثَرَتْ نَاقَتُهُ فَصَرَعَتْهُ اقْتَحَمَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ قَالَ جَعَلَنِي اللهُ فِدَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ الْمَرْأَةَ» فَقَلَبَ ثَوْبَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ حَتَّى أَتَاهَا فَقَذَفَهُ عَلَيْهَا وَأَصْلَحَ لَهُمَا مَرْكَبَهُمَا فَرَكِبَا وَاكْتَنَفْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أَشْرَفَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ «آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ» فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ

✧ I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on his return from ʿUsfān until we were on part of the road, and Ṣafiyyah bt. Ḥuyayy was seated behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. His she-camel stumbled and threw him. Abū Ṭalḥah rushed forward and said, "May Allah make me your ransom, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Attend to the woman." He turned his garment over his face, went to her, threw it over her, and set their mount right for them. They remounted, and we surrounded the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he overlooked Madinah, he said, "Returning, repenting, worshipping, and praising our Lord." He kept saying that until we entered Madinah.
